Kony 2012 – Can he be stopped? (Social Media effect and People’s words! )

Kony 2012 is a Short Film which shows the brutal terrorist reality behind the hidden world of Uganda launched by an NGO – Invisible Children. The film shows how Joseph Kony a leader of a terrorist group abducts children and converts them into criminals!

Now, we (rest of the world) is pretty much aware of the way things have always been in Africa!
Sadly, we are all aware of the number of crime rates in Africa and the fact that children are abducted and trained is no surprise! Why is the whole world only reacting when we watch it on YouTube?
Another dilemma one must have is why now? Ten years after Joseph Kony’s brutal dictatorship! This could have happened earlier too. But now, he is evidently weaker and probably to be taken over by some or the other political/non-political interest!!!
It is obvious to the whole world that Africa has been having these troubles!
With Hollywood movies like – Blooddiamond, Hotel Rwanda etc etc. Now, suddenly, from Angelina Jolie to the girl next door is worried about a Mr. Kony who is possibly no longer as strong as he was!
This shows how Hyper-connectivity of Facebook, twitter and Youtube is actually a super powerful force to influence the planet! Yes – not a region, a state or a country but the entire planet can be influenced and influenced fast!
We the new click-click (keyboard typing) generation must realize this power and start a real battle against many such Kony’s in Africa and the white collared one’s around the world – to STOP!
If we have to make changes we will have to participate on a more aggressive level than just watch the Youtube video? We need to get out there electronically – probably just show our presence on twitter or facebook! Act not just react!!!
We do not need more Kony’s to pick up children and make them murderers or sex slaves!
Let’s fight with the weapon we have been blessed with – Technology!! lets simply fight by typing back!!!

A Kiss, a hug and the Indian Culture Vulture! Do we need Moral Police? Is THIS Democracy?

Today – 24th Feb 2012 – the buzz in Mumbai (Bombay) is that a guy hugged and kissed a friend casually and WHOA NELLLY! The cops charged him with a fine and accused him of perverting as this was against Indian Culture! REALLY???
India has reached a global platform wherein we invite or rather welcome all western or eastern traditions with open arms. But, I believe it is only and only for Money, investments and business…
However, whatever the reasons you cannot deny the fact that this mixing up of cultures will definitely influence the youth gradually, creating a more evolved generation!
It’s OK to hug…
It’s OK to Kiss…
Please, understand we are not in 1947 anymore…please unleash us (the youth) Let us express our love to each other!
Indian Culture is definitely rich in context and we Love it! Admire It…but as soon as we are policed and fined for such trivial reasons it does not make me Proud to be an Indian!
Look at the amount of Garbage on the streets, beaches, the corruption is really out there and a common man is being fined for hugs and kisses!
This is really outrageous! Why don’t you Mr. Police go and stop the rape cases all around India first!
And then come to me for a Fine receipt for hugging or Kissing a fellow friend!
I will do what the heck I want to do as long as it’s not vulgar or criminal or consensual!
Who gives the police the right to stop me from HUGGING another Person!
Why are we so anti – progress when we force our children to think big! And study abroad but we don’t want the side effects! We want to completely abstain our janta from everything!
First it was no socializing post 12:00 am, then no holding hands, then no kissing…soon they are trying to censor our rights to write or express on Social Media..
The question goes to us citizens – Is this really democracy or is this a disguise?
Indian culture is so progressive that a hypocrite will never be able to handle it!
Not even my conservative Mother will! With Khajurao in our country why the heck are we being Policed to such a level!
Are we rats living in rat holes and this Govt. a bloody greedy and Hungry Tom Cat! I My guess – HECK YEAH!

I say Hug everyone you see around you and kiss who you want! Lets fight back!
I’am not giving up this for Indian Culture! Coz I’am clear how amazing my Indian Culture really is! The Moral Police needs a lesson or two about it for sure!

Presenting Publicity Stunt by Saif Ali Khan as – Ageing Vinod!! Oopps! Agent Vinod…

Well, men and brawls generally never have to be on top of the news line but hey! It’s Mr. Nawab Pataoing Kareena Khan! Well, at Wasabi Restaurant at Taj, Mumbai some ched Khaani and then dhishum dhishoom… Kaput! It’s on the news!
Well, timing is perfect after all Agening Vinod needs Publicity yaar! We the Mango People (Aam Junta) are just sheeps afterall… we follow where we are lead to!
So, lets talk about Saif and then slowly start talking about Agent Vinod…Marketing Strategy kya hai!
Or should I say “Aaak Thoo” – we will watch the movie never the less! Please, don’t hurt anyone in the process… (tongue in cheek)

Rather, go to a charity home or play cricket with the homeless (DONATE!) you might (just might) get better media attention and by the way! Publicity or no publicity we will watch your movie dude!
We are used to watching Uncle’s now…  It’s time Bollywood re-discovers itself and gives itself a facelift and I pray they start considering us the new – age as people with brains and stop treating us like idiots!!
-          Mango People (aam Janta)

Bollywood – the home of Uncle’s, star kids and flops and sadly zero talent!

Bollywood – the home of Uncle’s, star kids and flops and sadly zero talent:
Yes! It’s sad but the magic that bollywood used to create a few (ten) yrs ago has disappeared. The guy (apna hero) who was in college ten / fifteen years ago now has children who are in college but he refuses to grow up!
I mean seriously, we are a matured audience and know that the Khan’s just need to chillout now!
SRK, Salman and Amir please take it easy, you guys are almost my dad’s age and maybe you have the body or the steroids, but we the aam janta have a mind you know? We are so done with your bullying in the industry. Please, give some genuine artists a chance! Will ya?
Also, whatever happened to genuine actors, what is with iska beta, uska bhatija nonsense… sorry but Imran Khan, Sonam Kapoor etc have got zero talent and so do most of the idiot star kids! We the new age aam jantaa are way over the top on the reality news and do not appreciate this star kids funda! It’s just cheap and dumb!
DO you know why movies are not making money? Because, they have star kids (zero talent) or Uncle’s! Look at small budget movies like Bheja Fry and Khosla Ka Ghosla or Dor? Excellent piece of Art!
Damn, I am not from the ‘Industry’, I am a well educated, average looking, 20 something city girl and I get no goosebumps watching the movies of today!
Bollywood needs to gear up and gear up Fast!We are very eager to watch GOOD Hindi movies and would love to see some good actors on screen!
Thank you very much for reading and please, don’t take this personally!

E-commerce Rage – India:

E-shopping is slowly becoming a rage with Naaptol.com raising as high as Rs. 1.5 cr per DAY! Its not shocking to know that the customer base and interest have been diversified and diversified fast…
An interesting find shows that youth between the age of 19 yrs to 26 yrs are getting more and more involved in e- shopping. If this is not all, an increasing number of working women now prefer shopping online, considering the easy payment options of COD (cash on Delivery) this has now become a new rage.
So, what is it that has attracted such a huge traffic to e-shopping. Our team collected a few responses from ardent e-shopper’s and found:
1.       Malls – the checkout line is too long and the shopping experience is extremely tedious considering the overwhelming number of options and the number of people that show up at any given mall on a weekend.
2.       Weekends are for fun – so now, people seek entertainment in terms of relaxation for example watch a movie, dine, short getaways and not spend all that time in a Mall
3.       Added Expense in terms of time! Cityzens rarely ever have time to dine let alone travel all the way to a mall and then shop. Family has now become a priority and a must.
4.       The Hype of Malls is ongoing, it will never change in terms of entertainment however, shopping has definitely seen a huge diversion
5.       Net – banking and credit card security – this being the biggest reason why e-shopping is now a hit! Five years ago shopping online was a threat but now everyone is aware of the security levels and the trust levels provided by banks and credit card institutions has significantly increased. Hence, further coaxing a regular spender to spend online.
Hence, given the logistics feasibility and easy payment options customers have shifted their minds and interest to e-commerce. Also, social media has been a great reason why internet traffic has been directed to these sites.
So how does it happen: Generally, a shopper is just browsing the net while on facebook or google and then suddenly, is exposed with so many offer’s, that it is simply impossible to not just browse.
Ananya (name changed) is now an ardent e-shopper, thanks to facebook which never fails to keep her updated with the latest trends and bargains.
Also, the payment options on e-shopping have some very good brownie points as some sites offer attractive EMI options while others give heavy discounts and yet others offer free gifts!
So, e-shop away and if you think you need to increase your sales…look no further you are already looking into the internet… Do It Here!!!

Facebook, twitter, blogger, watsapp,BBM are we communicating or connecting?

Twitter, Facebook, Blogger, Watsapp, BBm and hundreds of other modes of communication that we have been using today...my question to you is are we truly communicating or are we merely over-communicating?

I have friends on all these mediums... but what was really surprising was, when I met one of my friends after weeks, did I really connect with him.

Only when we were face to face I could see his sad eyes behind his ‘smiley's’, we spoke, shared and even laughed in REAL!

Just that one evening with him made me feel so content.
Ironically, the very next day we were back to exchanging one liners... smileys..jokes and Broadcasts!

What this age of communication truly lacks is a connection we felt...with friends!

Another friend and I had a feud and I was told “I have 100 friends on facebook etc.. and I don’t need you to be honest with me... I will replace you!” Just like that... we were good friends for 10 years and now the more distant internet friends have been replacing real friendships...maybe because we don't have to hide anything from them. We can be our pseudo selves on these mediums and pretend to be happy!

One major question that I would like an answer to is: How many modes of communication are really important to let someone know you care!

Is communicating connecting? or is it only adding more chaos to this already chaotic world!
It’s not that I abhor these mediums. In fact, these are the only mediums through which one can actually speak up, sometimes.

There is a constant need to express our moods and feelings. I wonder if this is due to the global fact that speaking about your feelings is not in fashion but expressing it on these mediums will attract huge amounts of interests, yet no solution!
Its ironic that we all go through the same levels of isolation while being constantly connected.
Are we communicating because we are in fact isolated or fear isolation or is it that we do not want to invest time in communicating in person because it just gets too heavy in the end.
This also brings my attention to the rise of meditation, yoga etc. that have been in vogue to cure the unsteady mind and the perturbed hearts. Overwhelmed, is what we feel when we are communicating and when we realize that in the race to be the highest communicator we lost so many real buddies!
The reality being we are doing all of this with our fingers and with mouths shut and zero eye contact… that makes it a little bit incomplete…
Although I love communicating…I wonder if I really am?
